The ITER Technical Basis is currently the most complete documentation summarising the ITER design. Behind it are a large number of more detailed documents. These are not publically available, as they are part of the intellectual property of the ITER project, and thus belong to the participants. These are available from the ITER Intranet, for those permitted access. These more detailed documents are continually being updated and added to. Although the ITER Technical Basis was written in July 2001, most details in the above summary have not changed, and no revised version is currently planned.

Work on ITER is also reported at international scientific and technology conferences.
