The ITER Legal Entity (ILE) is officially known as the ITER International Fusion Energy Organisation (IIFEO). Currently it does not exist - it will be established following signature of the Joint Implementation Agreement on ITER construction.

The IIFEO is the organisation which holds the license for ITER construction and which is responsible for the safe operation of ITER.

It is currently foreseen to have the broad arrangement illustrated below.
