The progress made with the negotiations on joint construction of ITER by the end of 2002 led to the start of interim transitional arrangements (ITA) to continue this work in the runup to the establishment of the ITER Organisation as a legal entity, following signature of the agreement between the constructing Parties. This is the current phase of the project.

As far as negotiations on ITER joint implementation are concerned, the current status is reported in the news pages of this web site. There have been technical developments in the design and the project since the end of the EDA. It is also possible to see what is the current focus of the technical work principally of the Transitional Project Team.
