Common Text Second Preparatory Meeting for ITER Decision Making (P- 2) Vienna, 9th October 2003

Delegations from the seven Participants in ITER Negotiations Š Canada, China, European Union, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the Russian Federation and the United States of America - held a second preparatory meeting for ITER decision meeting (P-2) on 9th October 2003, at the headquarters of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Vienna.
  2. The Delegations discussed and made progress on a range of issues concerning the possible joint implementation of ITER, including:
  3. The Delegations considered that the discussions on procurement allocation and cost sharing arrangements were close to closure and looked forward to convergence on the other areas before the end of the year.
  4. The Delegations agreed a forward programme of work, and plans for further meetings to be held in November and December 2003 with a view to achieving high level agreement by end-2003 on key issues for ITER of siting, cost sharing, procurement allocation and the nomination of key positions
