Auditors
A Financial Audit Board is established by the ITER Organisation to undertake the audit of its annual accounts. Each Party has one representative on this board.
The representatives are independent and report only to the Council. Auditing is carried out based on recognized international principles and standards for accounting.
The audit:
-
determines whether all income/expenditure has been received/incurred in a lawful and regular manner and has been accounted for;
-
determines whether the financial management has been sound;
-
assures the Council as to the reliability of the annual accounts and the legality and regularity of the underlying transactions;
-
determines whether expenditures are in conformity with the budget;
-
examines any matter having potential financial implications for the ITER Organisation.
