Industry and Supply Organisations
ITER deals with suppliers who are contracted to the Domestic Agencies or to the ITER Organisation itself. When it is dealing with suppliers contracted to Domestic Agencies, the ITER Project Team has a monitoring role, whereby if changes are needed or if the product is unsatisfactory, the Central Project Team has to work with the Domestic Agency so that it sorts out any problems and so that cost implications can be decided. In the case of direct suppliers, the ITER Organisation is directly responsible for any price variation resulting from changes or delivery of non-conforming items.
Industry and supply organisations are not yet selected for ITER. Each Party will establish the industries for each procurement, by its own methods. This will in many cases involve open calls for tender, within that Party's territory, for each procurement package. The tendering process is organised by each Domestic Agency, for about 90% of the procurements, and by the ITER Organisation worldwide for the remaining 10%.
