On 9 November 1989, a momentous event occurred in Berlin. The Wall that had separated Germany for almost three decades fell, East and West were reunited, and a new era began for the peoples of Eastern Europe. In order to celebrate this event, the Einstein Foundation Berlin organized an international conference on breakthroughs in science and society. Norbert Holtkamp, ITER's Principal Deputy Director-General, was among the personalities invited to speak at the Falling Walls Conference. Watch excerpts from his presentation here.
