Heavy snow fell over Provence last week like it had a year ago almost to the day. The snow cover was two feet thick in Sisteron, a little less in Arles and Avignon.

At ITER, last Thursday snowfall was not as heavy as anticipated but enough to create this striking view of the platform.

Let us enjoy this beautiful bare landscape for it may be the last time we see it. Next winter, a nearly completed 19 metre-high building will rise on the edge of the platform.
