Osamu Motojima, Director-General

The ITER Organization is staffed by men and women from all over the world working together for the success of the ITER project. Five hundred directly employed staff and 350 external contractors currently work for the project in Cadarache, France.

Construction of the ITER scientific facilities began in July 2010. At the same moment, the management structure of the Organization was reconfigured by Director-General Osamu Motojima to conform to the needs of the large-scale construction project that lies ahead.

Three departments report directly to the DIrector-General: Administration; ITER Project; and Safety, Quality & Security. Click on the Organizational Chart below to find out more about the management structure of the ITER Organization.
