​Communication promotes understanding, appreciation and support for the ITER project. Through effective and imaginative communication the office promotes ITER's mission to a wide range of audiences including the general public, press and media, educators, funding agencies and members of the local community. The group fosters cooperation in communication among the ITER Members and also drives the internal communication efforts of the ITER Organization.

Communication is in charge of the ITER Organization's promotional materials and graphic standard manual, the ITER websites in English and in French, the internal communication platform Buzz, Press Releases, and the ITER Organization Annual Report. It also publishes the ITER Newsline (see latest issue here), a weekly online publication that covers all the major developments in the global ITER project. Regular photo campaigns of ITER progress and videos on the science and technology of ITER are also widely diffused to the public through the ITER Organization website.
 
By welcoming journalists to the ITER site and coordinating visits for the public (both local and international), Communication seeks to promote knowledge and understanding of the ITER project.
