With the approval of the Chinese Government, the Chinese Domestic Agency for ITER was officially established in June 2008. Registered as the "China International Nuclear Fusion Energy Program Execution Center" (CINFEPEC), the Chinese Domestic Agency is an independent legal entity under the supervision of the Ministry of Science and Technology. It is composed of 30 permanent staff, together with a dozen technical experts and some secondées.

The Chinese Domestic Agency is composed of five divisions: Project Management, Engineering Technologies, International Cooperation, Fusion R&D, and Administration. Under the leadership of the Minister from the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Agency is in charge of the implementation of the ITER Project together with other ministries, institutes and entities, and also for the management of domestic R&D in magnetic confinement fusion.

The Chinese Domestic Agency has been busy working on the preparation of Procurement Arrangements together with the ITER Organization. Two Procurement Arrangements were signed in 2008 for the toroidal field and poloidal field conductors, and two others for the correction coils and their conductors will be signed soon.

For its signed Procurement Arrangements, the Chinese Domestic Agency has already completed market surveys in preparation for the contracts, and is finishing call-for-tender procedures according to the ITER "Guidelines to the Management of Procurements In-Kind."

The Chinese Domestic Agency will strictly follow its commitments and maintain close cooperation and communication with the ITER Organization and other Domsetic Agencies in order to contribute to the success of ITER Project.
