A vacuum vessel to serve ITER

On Wednesday, 30 June, a special transport convoy delivered a seven-ton parcel to the Research Institute in Magnetic Fusion at CEA-Cadarache.

A "European procurement package", this parcel contained a 23 cubic metre vacuum vessel that will be part of a test bed to qualify, in "tokamak conditions", some of ITER's components — among them the Ion Cyclotron Resonance Heating antenna.
