Civil Construction & Site Office (CCS)The mission of the CCS Office is to ensure that the site infrastructure and buildings required for the ITER facility are designed and constructed in a timely and cost-efficient manner, and in accordance with specified requirements.
The CCS Office works closely with the European Domestic Agency Fusion for Energy, which is responsible for the detailed design and construction of the site infrastructure and buildings, as well as with Agence ITER France, the French agency responsible for the establishment of the ITER site platform, the off-site network connections as well as the temporary and permanent office buildings. As buildings are constructed and completed, the CCS Office will play a major role in the coordination of equipment storage and installation on the ITER site as well as in the maintenance of the buildings and site infrastructure.
On a day-to-day basis, CCS undertakes design work relating to the ITER site and buildings, manages external engineering contracts, and prepares procurement arrangement documentation as well as permits for the French regulatory bodies. It also monitors and reports on on-site activities, develops schedules for overall design and construction works, and acts as the liaison to ITER management. |
