The fusion educational program in the Netherlands is concentrated at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), located in the south. The university offers an international, dedicated Fusion Master that attracts students from around the world. It offers one of the world's most comprehensive selection of specialized lecture courses on fusion topics and all courses are provided in English.

The education program also encompasses a variety of hands-on experiments in the PlasmaLab, and cooperates closely with the Dutch institute for fusion research (DIFFER) that resides on-campus.

With ITER under construction and several other exciting large experiments starting or about to start worldwide, this is a great time for ambitious students to enter the world of fusion research. And vice versa, the fusion development program needs a new generation of the best engineers and researchers to take fusion research out of the laboratory and make the step towards commercial fusion energy.

Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) offers a dedicated, two-year MSc program on the Science and Technology of Nuclear Fusion. A truly interdisciplinary program, it is supported jointly by the departments of Applied Physics, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering. The program is completely taught in English, and the student population is very international.

The taught program consists of a "fusion core," covering topics from magnetic confinement and plasma physics to plasma surface interaction and reactor materials, fusion specialization electives, master classes given by specialists (including from ITER), and free electives. A full year is dedicated to research or design internships, for which our students in majority go abroad, for example to ITER or the national labs around the world.

Eindhoven University hosts the European Fusion Education Network FuseNet, and the TU/e Fusion MSc program is fully aligned with the requirements of the European Fusion Master certificate.
