![]() The team from KAT and ITER Korea after the debriefing on successful wire manufacture on Tuesday, 19 April. Kiswire Advanced Technology (KAT) located in Daejeon, Korea, recently completed the production of 28 tons of niobium-tin (Nb3Sn) wire for ITER's toroidal field magnets. This puts an end to the first stage of toroidal field strand procurement in Korea, which in total amounts to 93 tons. The second stage (30 tons) and the third stage (35 tons) are expected to be completed in 2013.
