Working at ITER
The ITER Organization, based in southern France, welcomes the best talents who can, together, prepare the way to new energy in a truly multi-cultural working environment.
ITER Values and Competencies
Each staff member working at ITER is required to maintain a strong commitment to the implementation and perpetuation of the ITER safety program, project values and the ITER Code of Conduct. This ambitious scientific project is held to the highest standards, and so are its employees. ITER staff put forward their best work and strive to create a work environment that is defined by the ITER values of collaboration, accountability, respect and excellence (CARE). The CARE values are a framework that guide our actions and define the culture and spirit of the ITER Project. We perform our work with care, we care for the well-being of our colleagues, our families and ourselves, and we care about the health of the planet for generations to come. CARE drives our work and our conduct at ITER.
Collaboration
We collaborate with commitment and flexibility using the power of teamwork. With 33 nations working on the ITER Project, we collaborate as one seamless team. This clarity and unity of purpose is vital for our success.
Accountability
We are accountable for the whole project. We take responsibility for our specific actions and are transparent in our daily work. Our contributions are made with care and attention to quality and safety, and with the awareness of their impact across the ITER Project.
Respect
We treat each other with respect and dignity at all times, knowing that all of us belong here. We appreciate the value that our multicultural and diverse community brings to the ITER Project. We create a space where everyone is welcome and included, where each voice is respected and embraced. Caring for people and the planet is embedded in the fabric of our organization.
Excellence
We are driven by excellence. We are agile and innovative while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and integrity. We carry a responsibility for future generations, but also for the safety and health of all who work on the project.
