Last Wednesday at JET more than 300 people gathered together to celebrate the successful completion of the shutdown. This very ambitious endeavour was probably the biggest since the construction of the machine itself. JET is now a new machine, a small ITER. Seven years ago, the first proposal of this enhancement was made. With the next set of experiments in JET the fusion community is going to mimic almost all ITER scenarios 10 years in advance. These experimental results and design studies are going to ease the ITER operation and help to make ITER a success.
