Helen Hinton
Helen Hinton joined ITER on 2 March as Technical Coordinator Assistant within the Project Office.
Before coming to ITER Helen was at the Savannah River Site (SRS) in the US. She worked for Westinghouse Savannah River Company and prior to that Energy Solutions and the British Nuclear Fuels Limited (BNFL) where she had a variety of assignments. Most recently, she was a member of the Facility Evaluation Board, responsible for performing periodic assessments of all operating site facilities and for start-ups of new processes or facilities. She has also held a number of training positions, both in the US Department of Energy and in commercial nuclear facilities.
Helen and her husband, who works for IRSN at Cadarache, will soon be moving to Puyricard. They have a son who lives in Dallas.
In her free time she enjoys visiting Aix and its Saturday market and trying out local restaurants and wines. Once spring is really here, she also hopes to do some hiking and biking. Helen is a great lover of French culture, and hopes to experience as much of it as she can while here.
