Meeting of the Local Commission for Information (CLI)


The Local Commission for Information (CLI) for ITER is holding a participatory public exchange on ITER on 28 November 2019 in Aix-en-Provence, France. This independent body acts as an interface between the ITER Organization and the local population for questions of nuclear safety, radioprotection and the installation’s impact on personnel and the environment. The ITER Organization and the French Nuclear Safety Agency (ASN) provide the ITER CLI with any information necessary to the exercise of its mission. The group, which meets regularly, is composed of representatives from local government, environmental groups, trade unions, businesses and health professionals.

11th ITER International School


The 11th ITER International School will be held from 20 to 24 July 2020, hosted by Aix-Marseille University in Aix-en-Provence, France.

As the start of ITER operations approaches, it is timely to address this multidisciplinary topic that includes plasma self-heating by fusion-born alpha-particles, the influence of energetic particles on stability, diagnosing energetic particle transport and loss, and understanding runaway electrons. The subject of this year’s school is "The Impact and Consequences of Energetic Particles on Fusion Plasmas."

The five-day program (in English) is open to student of science and engineering.
