Sergey Sadakov
Sergey Sadakov joined ITER on 2 March as a Design Engineer in the Internal Component Division of the Tokamak Department. This is not his first time around ITER, however. While working at the Efremov Institute (St. Petersburg, Russia) he was seconded to INTOR (Vienna, 1984 -1987), ITER CDA (Munich, 1988 - 1990) and ITER EDA (San Diego, 1993 - 1999 and Naka, 1999-2000). Then he worked at the Forschungszentrum Juelich / IPP (Juelich, Germany).

As a result of this globe-trotting, his family is now dispersed across Russia, the US and France. Sergey is in Aix where, not surprisingly, he spends a good deal of his free time writing emails and sending photos to stay in contact with his family.
