Air conditioners can easily increase a building's energy consumption and associated carbon emissions by up to 100 percent. So turn them off before you go!
Air conditioners may help to improve the climate in your office during the hot summer months, but they certainly do not help to preserve the planet's climate. Even modern air conditioners use a huge amount of energy and can easily increase a building's energy consumption and associated carbon emissions by up to 100 percent. So, remember to turn the machine off when you leave your office at night or before you pack up for the weekend. Otherwise your office will be a fridge when you come back on Monday morning and opening the window to let the cold air out is certainly not an appropriate move.
